About Christine Elliott:
Christine Elliott grew up in Whitby where her family instilled in her the importance of character, compassion, and strong conservative values. It was these values that motivated Christine to seek public office for the first time. She was elected as the Member of Provincial Parliament for Whitby-Oshawa in the 2006 by-election, and she was re-elected for subsequent terms in 2007, 2011 and 2014.
Christine has risen to become a leader within the PC caucus, and has served as Deputy Leader of the official Opposition. She is known to be a tenacious MPP, serving as the Critic for the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and Mental Health Reform.
Prior to her election, Christine co-founded a law firm with her late husband, Jim Flaherty.
