About the Speakers:

Richard Kazmirchuk

Richard was hired by Yellow Pages Group in 2010 and his goal is to help SMBs navigate the right course to help increase online conversion, customer acquisition and grow revenues. Richard was introduced to online and digital advertising in 1995 and helped companies like IBM and Microsoft market their products and services in the brand new digital world.

Richard graduated into Publisher and VP Sales & Marketing roles managing sales people before moving into the search/directory marketplace in 2003 with Rogers Publishing as General Sales Manager for FRASERS Canadian Trade Directory and FRASERS.com. He led a team of 15 sales people to transform the print advertising for over 1,000 advertisers into the online world where no previous pathways had been created and accomplished this feat two years ahead of plan in 2007.

Tim Hudak

Tim Hudak was born and raised in Fort Erie – a small border town on the Niagara Peninsula – to his loving parents, Pat and Anne Marie, both of whom were teachers. Tim put himself through university working as a Customs Officer at the Peace Bridge, and earned an Economics degree from the University of Western Ontario. He was subsequently awarded a full academic scholarship to the University of Washington where he obtained his Master of Arts in Economics.

After graduation, Tim traveled across the country as part of a management team that helped a major international retailer grow its operations throughout Canada. Tim’s motivation to enter politics started in the early 1990s when, like most of Ontario, his hometown was having a tough time. Families were leaving to find opportunities that were no longer available at home.

Tim was first elected as an MPP in 1995. He subsequently served as a Cabinet Minister for five years in three economic portfolios from northern development and mines to tourism to consumer and business services. In opposition, Tim served as Finance Critic for four years before he was elected Leader of the Ontario PC Party in June 2009. In the recent provincial election, Tim led the Ontario PC Party to its biggest election gain in seats since the 1995 election.

Tim lives in Wellandport in his riding of Niagara West-Glanbrook where he makes it a priority to spend as much time as possible with his family – his wife Debbie and, the light of his life, his daughter Miller. In his spare time, Tim is an avid student of economics and Canadian history. He remains deeply attached to the Niagara countryside of his youth and enjoys mountain biking, outdoor cooking and kayaking on the Welland River near his home.

Tim believes if you work hard and play by the rules, you deserve to get ahead. He believes in creating the conditions that encourage entrepreneurs and businesses to drive new job growth and prosperity in a modern economy. He believes government must live within its means and respect that every dollar it has comes directly from the people it serves.
